Premiere screening of the movie "After Hitler" on May 5
On May 5, at 7 pm, the Embassy of France in the United States, in partnership with France 2 and Cineteve, is proud to present the premiere screening of After Hitler to commemorate Victory in Europe Day. Produced by Fabienne Servan-Schreiber and Lucie Pastor, this movie uses colorized and sound-designed archives remastered in HD to look back on the aftermath of the Second World War.
Just before the 71st anniversary of Victory in Europe day on May 8, this public event will be an occasion to remember the victory of the Allies against Nazi Germany and the end of the WWII in Europe.
The war left 36 million dead in Europe alone. The continent had to heal, reconstruct and deal with the aftereffects of such a barbaric conflict, all while thinking of its future.
The screening will be followed by a discussion with Colonel Walter M. Hudson (U.S. Army), a military and Cold War historian and Colonel Philippe Geay de Montenon (French Embassy).
It will be moderated by Stephen Harding, editor of Military magazine.
May 5, 2016 - 7 pm. La Maison Française / French Embassy.
Free event. Registration required on Eventbrite.
