Fine dining - "La Liste," ranking of the best restaurants in the world unveiled

Published on December 6, 2016
On December 5, the algorithm-based compilation of the world’s best 1,000 restaurants launched its 2017 edition alongside an app for easy access to the ranking.

Under the auspices of Jean-Marc Ayrault, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, the latest "La Liste" ranking of the 1,000 best restaurants in the world, as well the list of the top 10,000 restaurants offering the best value for money, has been unveiled on December 5 at the Quai d’Orsay by Philippe Faure, President of Atout France.

"La Liste" is an algorithm-based aggregator of food guides and reviews, crafting the perfect ranking of the world’s best restaurants. Trusted sources from around the world are compiled year round, leading up to the glamorous ceremony when the world’s best chefs are honored each December in Paris. France has 113 restaurants in the new edition of the ranking. This year, French chef Guy Savoy takes first place.

This new data promises to be more easily accessible thanks to the launch of a mobile application, available for iPhone from Monday, December 5, and coming to Android in January. Users can enter their location to find restaurants in "La Liste" as well as the "best value" restaurants by means of colored dots.

This initiative will raise the international profile of Paris and France, helping to promote French cuisine around the world.
