From James Baldwin writing in Paris to Marcel Duchamp exhibiting in New York to Agnès Varda filming the street muralists of Los Angeles, France and the US share a long history of artistic collaboration and mutual admiration.

This fall, the Cultural Services of the French Embassy and FACE Foundation, in partnership with 20 Brooklyn venues, will inaugurate Brooklyn Falls for France, a cross-disciplinary Francophone cultural season running from September 2019 to February 2020 featuring 27 projects including 7 American premieres.

The program will offer Brooklyn audiences the rare opportunity to discover a panorama of established and emerging Francophone artists across a variety of disciplines, including the visual arts, dance, music, literature, cinema, virtual reality, augmented reality, audio recordings, and more.

Events will take place across the borough, from Williamsburg to Brooklyn Heights and Prospect Park at venues such as Union Docs, The Chimney, The Brooklyn Navy Yard, St. Ann’s Warehouse, The Invisible Dog Art Center, the Brooklyn Book Festival, the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), and the Brooklyn Museum, among many others.
