The Sleeping Car Murders is the first feature film by Franco-Greek director Costa-Gavras. Adapted from a novel by Sébastien Japrisot, the film is a humorous, visually punchy take on a murder mystery.

In this great crime film, a young woman is found dead on the overnight train from Paris to Marseille, leading suspicions to fall on the five passengers who shared her compartment. Yves Montand leads a all-star cast in the role of the head detective.
